A special message from the Headteacher
For those of you who do not know about Oak Bank School, we are a special school which caters for pupils who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties, including associated challenging behaviours. Many of the pupils that attend the school have additional special educational needs such as autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit and hyperactive disorders (ADHD) and speech, language and communication difficulties.
Places for pupils are commissioned at the school by several local authorities, Including Central Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Luton. All pupils who are referred to the school have an education, health and care plan.
Oak Bank is an Outstanding learning community (Ofsted 2015 & 2019) that engages pupils and develops positive attitudes to learning. The school currently has capacity for 127 pupils ranging from age 9 to 19. ‘The quality of education is outstanding and life changing’ Ofsted March 2019.
Staff at Oak Bank are confident and skilled in building positive relationships that help to break down barriers, build self-esteem and challenge disaffection. Teachers and support staff at Oak Bank are highly trained to meet the needs of individual pupils.
Many of the pupils that attend Oak Bank have not had success in their education elsewhere. Through their attendance at Oak Bank, these pupils rebuild their trust and desire to learn. Our pupils achieve exceptionally well academically, from often lower-than-expected starting points. They leave school at Year 11 or after sixth form with relevant qualifications and work experience that helps them gain employment.
We are extremely proud of our Oak Bank Family and our journey. We are recognised as a leading SEMH provision and National Behaviour Hub by the DfE. We know our website provides only a glimpse into the range of our provision, culture, activities and the fun that our pupils and staff enjoy as they learn. I recently had the privilege of attending the restaurant of three upcoming chefs, and let me tell you, it was an experience like no other! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and a palpable sense of excitement in the air.
The atmosphere was inviting, setting the stage for what would be an unforgettable dining experience. As I settled into my seat, I was presented with three fabulous starter dishes, each crafted with care and attention to detail.
The chefs, clearly passionate about their craft, delivered three distinctly different dishes that showcased their unique styles and flavours. From the delicate presentation to the bold flavours, each dish was a work of art in its own right.
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Chef Phillips' Scotch Egg, and let me just say, it was a culinary delight like no other! From the first bite to the last, every moment was an explosion of flavour that left me craving more.
The exquisite blend of tastes in this Scotch Egg is truly commendable. The crispy sausage meat enveloping the perfectly cooked egg created a symphony of textures that was both satisfying and comforting. And let's not forget about the bed of fresh rocket underneath, adding a refreshing contrast to the richness of the dish.
But what truly sets Chef Phillips' Scotch Egg apart is the harmonious combination of flavours. Each element complemented the other so perfectly, creating a culinary masterpiece that tantalised my taste buds with every bite. The flavorful notes lingered in my mouth long after the meal was over, leaving me with a sense of culinary satisfaction like never before.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Chef Phillips' Scotch Egg enough. With its impeccable taste, flawless execution, and undeniable deliciousness, it's easily a 5-star experience that I would happily indulge in again and again. If you're looking for a culinary adventure that will leave you speechless, look no further than Chef Phillips' Scotch Egg!
Allow me to share my recent culinary experience with Chef West's Garlic Stuffed Mushroom – a true masterpiece that deserves every accolade it receives!
From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The crispy grilled cheese and garlic breadcrumbs on top provided the perfect crunch, while the mushroom itself boasted a texture that was nothing short of perfection. Each bite was a symphony of textures that danced across my palate in the most delightful way.
But the true star of the show was the creamy cheese filling nestled inside the mushroom. Rich, decadent, and utterly divine, it added a luxurious touch to an already exceptional dish. The combination of flavours was nothing short of magical, with the garlic-infused cheese melting perfectly into every nook and cranny of the mushroom.

From the moment the dish arrived at my table, I was impressed by its presentation. The mushroom, perfectly cooked and topped with a generous layer of cheese, rested on a bed of fresh rocket, creating a visual feast for the eyes. But it wasn't just the appearance that caught my attention – the taste was equally outstanding.
The combination of flavours in Chef Pasha's Stuffed Garlic & Chili Mushroom creation was nothing short of exquisite. The creamy cheese topping melded seamlessly with the earthy richness of the mushroom, while the bed of rocket added a refreshing contrast to each bite. But what truly elevated this dish to the next level were the chilli heat notes that danced on my palate with each mouthful.
The subtle kick of heat added a delightful complexity to the dish, keeping my taste buds tantalised from start to finish. And as I savoured each bite, I couldn't help but appreciate the welcomed aftertaste of heat that lingered, leaving me craving more.

Math's: Hi all, thanks to those families and students that were able to work out the math's problems on our math's board in February! Some great commitment, and we are seeing a much deeper understanding and engagement in math's across the school. Well done! Please have a look at this month's challenges, and message your key worker or math's teacher with the answer. It is Pi Day Thursday 14th March (3.14) so any discussion around circles and Pi would also be great!
